The turn of the screw

Hi!
I have recently read a very interesting book, it's called "The Turn of the Screw" ( the Polish translation is " W kleszczach lęku"). It's about a young governess from Hapmshire who takes care of two orphaned children, Miles and Flora. The two siblings seem to be wonderful. They are always kind, polite and never do anything wrong... Well, but they only seem to be so perfect.
The governess soon finds out that the children still maintain the bounds of friendship with their former governess and servant, who are dead. She is really scared because she can see the
phantoms while the kids can only hear them. It's written by Henry James.
I think that the book is really addictive. I really enjoyed reading it.
I hope ( of course if you're interested in reading it ) that you'll like it just as much as I do.

Stoneheart

Hey, hi, hello!
I’ve found ANOTHER interesting book :). This time it’s called Stoneheart. It’s about a 12-year-old boy called George. After he gets into trouble in the museum during a school trip, he gets into trouble on the street. (yeap, on the street). He breaks a sculpture of Pterodactyl.  And this strange creature starts to hunt for him. Only he can see it. Another statue saves him from getting killed, and this time it’s Gunner, a sculpture of  World War I. However, things get more difficult than George can imagine.

When she touches somebody she takes her/his life energy and inflicts killing pain. One day they give her a cellmate called Adam Kent. She finds out that he is her old friend from school. And he is the only one who can touch her safely… That’s where all the trouble starts…

The Door to Time

Hi!
I’ve read a book called „The Door to Time”. It’s about 3 friends who live in a little town  (you can’t find it on the map). They live in an old house. One day they get a strange letter with 4 keys in it. Behind the closet there is a hidden door with 4 key holes… Julie, Jason and Rick slowly discover the secrets of Villa Argo.  I think it's a very interesting book.

Divergent

HI!
Do you like action books? Recenty I’ve read something like this… It’s called „Divergent”. In modern Chicago, there are five fractions. Abnegation (the selfless), Amity (the peaceful), Candor (the honest), Dauntless (the brave) and Erudite (the intelligent). All teenagers who have turned sixteen  must take a test of belonging to help them choose the fractions. The sixteen-year-old Beatrice is different from other people… She can be in three different fractions… She is divergent.

I AM NUMBER FOUR

Hi!
I really love books… 'I Am Number Four' is fantastic.
Three killed, I Am Number Four.
John Smith is one of the nine guards, who came to our planet. They look like us, but they are faster and stronger than other people. They have powers about which we can only dream. They come from a planet called Lorien and are chased by Mogadores, who want to kill them. However, they can be obliterated in the order of their allocated numbers.
Number One caught up in Malaysia.
Number Two in England.
And Number Three in Kenya.
They killed the three.
I am number four.
I'm next in line…

The Clan of the Cave Bear

Hi!
I thought that you may be bored  in your free time(after doing homework of course ).

So instead surfing the net for long, long hours you can read. I know a few good books. One of them is called “The Clan of the Cave Bear”. It’s the first book from Earth Children series and written by Jean M. Auel . The main character is Ayla. She is a 5-year-old girl when the story begins. Her whole village is destroyed in an earthquake and she is the only one that survives. She decides to walk away for some time, but soon she gets lost and attacked by a cave lion. People that are very different to her find and take care of the little girl. Men who she met call themselves The Clan of the Cave Bear. Soon Ayla becomes one of them. Of course, it wouldn’t be a book if there weren’t any complications.
Well, I like this book because it’s placed in prehistory. You can learn a lot from this story.

Film.

 guys !

Do you want to see something incredible ?
Bonia recommends Pan’s Labyrinth! It’s a Mexican film but the action takes place in Spain. The main character is Ofelia, she is 12 and she is fascinated with fairy tales. At the beginning she emigrates to the countryside because of the war. There she gets really lonely. Near her cottage there is a labyrinth… PAN’S LABYRINTH !!!
We can also learn something about the history of Spain. This film is a bit scary, but it got 3 Oscar awards.
Come on, just watch it, man !
Scary, scary my friend !
